Woman Wounded in Shooting

A woman was wounded in a shooting in Lemon Grove today, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 4 p.m. near Grover’s Tavern in the 3300 block of Buena Vista Avenue, said Lt. Mike McClain of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were unable to find the suspect, described only as in his 20s, wearing dark clothing and waving a handgun.

The woman was wounded in the leg, but her wounds were not believed to be life threatening.
